Visualization Practice – Let Go of Negativity
We are what we think. Negativity comes in many different flavors. We can be judgmental, fearful, angry, hurt, or have a feeling of helplessness. We may worry about what might happen in the future, or go over and over a bad situation that occurred yesterday or years ago.
Make the effort to change your way of thinking. If you are struggling, visualize something positive. Remember a time when you were happy and safe. Maybe it was a trip to the beach. Visualize what the beach looked like. Hear the sound of the surf, people laughing, and the wind whistling. Smell the smoke of the beach fire and the food cooking. Feel the sand on your bare feet and the breeze as it blows across your face.
If you cannot think of a happy moment from the past, make up a pleasant experience. Go through all the senses and truly feel as if you are there. You are what you think. If you are negative, take control and let your mind go to a place that is happy, safe, and enjoyable.
